Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)Q: How early should we request to book a performance?
A: We recommend that performances are booked at least 1 month in advance to allow sufficient time for volunteer recruitment and training if needed. Nonetheless, please feel free to always reach out when you can and we will do our best to accommodate. Q: How long is each performance? A: Each performance is approximately 45 min to 1 hr in duration. Q: What type of music should we expect? A: We offer a wide variety of music genres from classical to popular music. We always keep our audience in mind when recruiting volunteers and selecting the appropriate music. The music program including the list of performers will always be provided to facilities in advance. Each performance is composed of different teams and instruments to allow variety. Q: Are all performers professional musicians? A: Volunteer musicians are composed of both Professionals and competitive Non-Professionals. Volunteers are accepted into the program through an application process. Basic education/training is always provided to support our volunteers and ensure the quality of our performances. All performances are moderated for quality by the Advisory Team of Music Therapists, Professional Musicians, and the Director of Talent Management. Q: What can we as a facility do to support volunteers on the performance day? A: A supervisor (volunteer leader) from MINS will always be present to facilitate and direct performers. Light refreshments and/ drinks for volunteers after the performance are always appreciated. |
